Japanish Translation Guidelines for Barberly Documentation
To add Japanish (JP) support to the documentation, follow these steps:
1. File Structure
- All Japanish content is located in
content/jp/. - The structure and filenames must match those in
content/en/.
2. Translation Instructions
- Translate all markdown files from English to Japanish.
- Preserve:
- Image references and paths
- YouTube/video embeds
- Code examples and code blocks (do not translate code)
- File structure and naming
- Frontmatter metadata structure (translate only values where appropriate)
- Markdown formatting (headings, lists, links, etc.) must remain unchanged.
- Technical terms and code should remain in English unless a well-known Japanish equivalent exists.
- Navigation menus: Ensure menu titles and section names are translated for clarity.
3. Review
- After translation, verify that:
- All pages from English exist in Japanish
- Navigation and links work correctly
- Images and embedded content display properly
- Formatting is consistent with other languages
