This guide explains how to set up and manage free services rewards for your clients using Barberly’s loyalty program.
Free Services Bonuses Overview
Free service bonuses allow you to reward loyal clients with complimentary services when they accumulate a predetermined number of points. These rewards are highly effective at driving repeat business as they provide tangible value that clients can easily understand.
Within Barberly’s Loyalty Program, free service bonuses are one of three available reward types you can offer to your clients.
How Free Service Bonuses Work
When clients book services with your business, they earn points based on the monetary value of their appointments (1 point = 1 currency unit). Once they accumulate enough points, they can redeem those points for free services that you’ve configured.
Important: Unlike other bonus types, free service bonuses must be applied to specific services that you explicitly select. You cannot create a free service bonus that applies to all services.
Key Benefits
- High perceived value: Clients typically value free services more than equivalent cash discounts
- Cross-selling opportunity: Introduce clients to services they haven’t tried before
- Clear reward structure: Clients easily understand what they’re getting
- Build loyalty: Creates strong incentive for clients to return to accumulate points
- Reduces unused inventory: Fill quiet periods with reward redemptions
How to Configure Free Service Bonuses

Effective Use Cases
1. Complementary Add-On Services
Offer free add-on services that complement your core offerings. For example, a barber shop might offer:
- A free beard trim with any haircut (worth 15 points)
- A free scalp treatment (worth 25 points)
- A free face mask treatment (worth 30 points)
This approach encourages clients to try supplementary services they may later book as paid services.
2. Trial Premium Services
Allow clients to experience your premium services for free with point redemption:
- Free premium haircut (worth 100 points)
- Free deluxe treatment (worth 200 points)
This strategy creates exposure to your high-end offerings and may convert clients to these services for future appointments.
3. Seasonal or New Service Promotion
Offer free trials of seasonal services or newly added offerings:
- Free trial of a new styling technique (worth 50 points)
- Complimentary seasonal treatment (worth 75 points)
This helps promote awareness and adoption of new services while rewarding loyal clients.
4. Loyalty Milestones
Create special milestone rewards for your most loyal clients:
- After 10 haircuts, receive the 11th free (worth 500 points)
- After accumulating 1000 points, receive any service of choice
These rewards celebrate client loyalty and encourage long-term relationships.
